"...a new ensemble opera company that is being formed for the purpose of creating original music-theater works designed to integrate the Music Journeys of "Guided Imagery and Music" (GIM) with immersive participatory theater. Company states: "During GIM, the audience is invited to "travel" to the music with eyes closed, evoking imagery that can be a powerful catalyst for transformational change. These performances will incorporate elements of ritual and will feature therapeutic instruments including gong, singing bowls, monochord and didgeridoo along with classical instruments. The narratives will be mythic in nature, making use of archetypal forms in sound, character and landscape. Original music and sound art will be composed for individuals within the ensemble drawing from classical art song, folkloric and world music, as well as generated collaboratively from the ensemble itself using Joule L'Adara's Sounding Circles group vocal facilitation process. Musical influences include but are not limited to: the Meredith Monk Ensemble, Pauline Oliveros, David Hykes' Harmonic Choir, and Lisa Gerrard (of Dead Can Dance)."
